About us

My name is Robert François. I am the founder of Devotional Lifestyle.

I was born and raised in poverty in Haiti, and those early years were rough. Every single day, we had to rely on God for the most basic needs of life — food, clothing, and shelter.

By the grace of God, I was able to start school in my teens. But soon after, I was forced to quit. My mother could not afford to pay school fees for my two brothers and me at the same time — in Haiti, parents pay for public education out of pocket. I was old enough by then to understand that I had to rely completely on the will of God for my life and stay dedicated to whatever He had for me.

In 1995, a group of missionaries traveled from Hartville, Ohio to Haiti to work on various projects. That was the day my life changed forever. God put it on one man's heart to support me and my two brothers — he paid for the rest of our primary and secondary schooling, and later even covered our college expenses. With his help, I finished college and earned a degree in accounting and finance in 2007.

After university, I thought my career was set. I was passionate about accounting, and in 2008 I found my first job as an accountant at a church homeschool. But God had other plans. A year later, the same missionary group returned to Haiti, and God sent someone new into my life to take me to the next level in my relationship with Him. This man told me I had been investing in earthly education, and that God wanted me to invest in spiritual education. I remember saying "yes" without hesitation. I was excited — I shared the news with family and friends. Most of them thought I was crazy. Why would I quit my job to go serve somewhere without pay? But I told myself: if God had been committed to me all these years, why shouldn't I devote myself to His Word to fully understand His purpose for my life?

That decision shifted everything. I went from an accounting career to a missionary calling, and spent a full year studying at a Bible school in Taiwan. That experience opened my eyes to what God had in store for me. For the first time, I truly felt I had purpose.

Fast forward to 2021: God put it on my heart to start an online brand called Devotional Lifestyle. This is how I give back to His kingdom and my community in return for everything God has invested in my life — by creating clothing that brings honor and glory to His name. Clothing anyone can wear, regardless of race, ethnic background, denomination, or culture. Every piece represents the love of the Father and what He has taught me through my devotion and time with Him. I will always be grateful.
